Dr. Iuliia Konko has been a Sustainable Packaging Specialist in the Strategy & Transformation Office of Merck Life Science, the Life Science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, since 2022. She leads the SMASH Packaging program across EMEA to reduce the environmental impact of packaging by optimizing resources, designing for circularity, and transitioning to more sustainable materials.

Iuliia holds a PhD in physical chemistry and materials science from the University of Strasbourg. Previously, she held roles at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products (now Kenvue) and BASF, building deep expertise in packaging and coatings.

Iuliia participates in the Circular Economy Committee of FECC (the European Association of Chemical Distributors), contributing practical industry perspectives on circular packaging systems.
