About

Sustainable innovation and business resilience

This conference connects packaging experts, innovators, policymakers, recyclers, brands, and retailers who are tired of surface-level sustainability talk and industry echo chambers.

We’ll critically assess how to connect innovation, circularity, and sustainability with consumer demands, compliance, and operational realities.  Expect less jargon and more case studies and practical solutions.

This year's themes

View agenda

Compliance, advocacy and business resilience

How to meet evolving regulatory, business and sustainability needs? Organisations across the packaging and waste value chain are framing sustainability in terms of risk mitigation, long-term value creation and supply security.

We’ll highlight real-life examples of sustainability strategies that drive cost savings, competitive advantage, and business resilience.

The opportunities in innovation and market transformation

Data and traceability, waste management technologies, and material innovation are becoming increasingly important to inform both compliance and innovation strategies.

We’ll highlight best practice for scaling sustainable innovation, developments in corporate venture capital, and how to unlock investment to de-risk technologies and build infrastructure.

End-of-life and design for circularity

What does a circular packaging system look like in practice? Assess how new business models, evolving consumer behaviour, and scaled use of recycled content can move the sector from pilot initiatives to real systemic change in how we use and market packaging.

Collaboration around circular innovation is a driver of long-term business value. We’ll discuss how to leverage complimentary skills to develop solutions that work both upstream and downstream.

Sustainability ambitions and operational realities

Packaging sustainability cuts across sourcing, R&D, regulatory, and logistics and operations: innovation demands coordination both internally and with value chain partners.

Through in-depth case study sessions, speakers share what’s working, what’s not, and key lessons learned in working together to enable solutions at scale.

"Very insightful and impactful forum, allowing for good conversations. The topics covered were very relevant, the absence of PowerPoints made discussions very interactive, and my objectives to learn and network were met."

"A super interesting and well-rounded set of discussions all around! I do not often want to follow all of the sessions in an event, and it was clearly the case this time."

"I truly loved every aspect of it. It was completely different to other conferences I have attended with an unprecedented level of interaction and participation. I very much enjoyed both the panel discussions and the roundtables, which were very interactive and informative. Having such a diverse group of attendees with sometimes wildly different viewpoints and agendas, it is with this group of people we must find the plastic packaging and plastic waste solutions of the future."
