Barbara de Penanster is Global Sustainable Sourcing Director at Danone and a member of the Procurement Leadership Team, where she drives the integration of climate, nature, and human rights into global sourcing strategies. She leads Danone’s supplier engagement agenda, embedding sustainability into governance, investments, and partnerships to accelerate Scope 3 decarbonization, regenerative agriculture, and due diligence.
She previously held senior leadership roles at Dole Sunshine Company as Senior Director, Ventures, Transformation & Sustainability, and at Unilever, where she created and led the Unilever Foundry in Asia.
Recognized internationally, Barbara was named by GreenBiz (2023) among the “12 Badass Women in Food” and by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as one of “6 Women Changing the Way Business Confronts Climate Challenges.” She also serves as a French Trade Advisor (CCE) and vice-president of the Singapore chapter, where she leads the AgriFood Tech roundtable.
