James joined Cargill in 2018. In his current role he is responsible for building sustainability partnerships and value with customers across the Cargill food Enterprise in EMEA. This work touches products such as chicken, palm, rapeseed and sunflower oils, starch and sweeteners derived from wheat and corn and cocoa and chocolate.
He studied across the UK, in the areas of sustainability and agriculture. His career has principally focused on embedding sustainability within agri systems and food brands, through advising farmers, creating value with customers, shaping public policies and building sustainability brand value.
He has held a number of diverse roles across the agri supply chain before joining Cargill, in the private/public sectors and trade associations. Prior to Cargill he worked for Kellogg’s in sustainability. Roles before that included a National Park Ranger on Hadrian’s Wall, UK, a farm environmental adviser for the UK government and Assistant Director in the UK National Farmers’ Union office in Brussels, Belgium.
He lives in Brussels with his wife and twin boys.
