Funding transformation: Public-private partnerships that deliver investment in infrastructure and finance real systems change

09:30 - 10:30
The shift to a circular economy requires significant investment to scale sustainable packaging solutions, build necessary recycling infrastructure, and drive transformation across business models and the value chain. While many circular solutions already exist, a large investment gap still remains. This raises the familiar question: Who pays?

Blended finance has emerged as a key mechanism to fund harder-to-finance infrastructure and long-term innovation. In this session we’ll discuss how public-private partnerships can de-risk investments and unlock private sector capital.

  • What are the primary bottlenecks and barriers to financial flows in circular packaging?
  • Case studies of successful public-private investment partnerships
  • How do financial institutions identify and appraise circular initiatives?
  • The role of policy to create demand drivers and mobilise private investment
