Circularity in packaging: How can we get beyond ‘circular-ish’ to real impact at scale?

15:30 - 16:15
It has been estimated that 95% of the value of packaging materials is lost across the supply chain and in post-consumer life. That amounts to $80-120 billion every year getting lost in the linear economy. To transition to a circular system is not only an environmentally conscious decision. It is also a strategic one.

In this session, we will take a pragmatic look at the path to circularity in packaging. We’ll assess the key barriers to implementation, but also highlight the solutions that already exist and the steps we can take to decouple growth from virgin resource use.

  • The opportunities and challenges in adopting circular business models: Case studies of what's worked, and what hasn't
  • How material and business innovation can deliver real, measurable impact
  • How to adopt and embed circular design principles across the business
  • Best practice to engage to entire value chain and ensure suppliers can play their part in closing the loop
