Traditional CSR was risk mitigation. But increasingly, society (and critically large investors) are expecting sustainable business to go beyond the norm and create a positive impact through their operations. ‘Doing less bad’ just doesn’t cut it anymore. Brands need a purpose.
For those brands who are able to embed and communicate a deeper purpose to their business model, there are significant returns. Recent analysis has not only shown the traditional benefits in terms of brand loyalty, employee retention etc. but is also showing that purpose delivers on the bottom line. So how do you get beyond risk, to talk about the business case and opportunity behind leading with purpose?
In this session, we’ll discuss how to promote and enable a shift in thinking amongst company leadership. We’ll discuss:
Clear examples of purpose driven leadership delivering an ROI
How do you talk about brand activism in a way that makes sense to boards?
How should your board prioritise and manage sustainability/ESG risk vs opportunity
