Investment managers are increasingly saying they want companies to provide more robust and consistent reporting on ESG issues. The SDGs offer something that has hitherto been lacking: a common language for companies, investors and civil society to discuss the systemic challenges we face. Could the SDGs therefore provide a better basis for reporting on corporate ESG performance? That’s the topic of this session, which will explore the following questions:
Can the SDGs provide a framework for better corporate benchmarking?
How can we avoid 'SDG washing’ by ensuring that reporting is both credible and comparable?
Do the SDGs offer a way to look at a company’s impacts holistically - both good and bad?
Do the SDGs offer an opportunity to engage conscious consumers and investors more effectively?
