Marije is a Senior Policy Officer for the Circular Economy, specializing in the transformation of the textile industry from linear to circular models. With expertise in sustainable fashion and waste reduction, Marije develops and implements forward-thinking policies designed to reshape how textiles are produced, consumed, and recycled.

Marije’s work spans critical areas of textile circularity, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) frameworks, coordination of circular textile policy programmes, regulation of second-hand textile and textile waste exports, and initiatives to make second-hand textiles more accessible and attractive to consumers. Marije also contributes to the development and implementation of European textile policies, helping to establish standards that promote sustainability across the continent.
