Alexander (Alex) is Director of Innovative Finance at The Rockefeller Foundation, where he leads sustainable investments focused on energy, agriculture, and forestry. Alex’s previous experience includes leading venture capital investing and portfolio management at Invested Development, private credit at responsAbility Investments, and strategic investments and philanthropy at Meta. Alex has significant international experience having invested across the United States, Latin America, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa; and lived in Nairobi, Kenya from 2012 – 2017. He is currently based in New York City.
Alex began his career at Morgan Stanley’s North American Electricity Trading Group. His academic background includes a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and an MPA from Columbia University with a specialization in International Energy Management and Policy. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
