Venkat Kotamaraju, as Partner & Director at Intellecap, is the global head of circular economy and climate solutions and spends his time in-country with teams in India, Bangladesh, Africa, and Europe. The global portfolio includes four (4) ecosystem facing platforms each solving for a development challenge with specific lenses. These include CAIF, Circular Apparel Initiative  (with the vision to drive circularity within fashion industry), CCI, Circular Cities Initiative  (which enables cities and countries transition to a circular and regenerative future), C4ID, Centre for Industrial Decarbonization (helping decarbonise critical industry supply chains in light industries, hard to abate industries, F&B and automotive industries and CFS, Circular Food Systems (which aims to solve for global food security crisis). Much of the work is anchored in cluster-based approach to decarbonise MSMEs within manufacturing clusters, Place-based Circular Economy development to build climate resilient supply and value chains and ensuring just-transition for the formal and informal workers that for the backbone of critical industries, especially in the global south.

Much of Venkat’s focus is on climate, green, and circularity financing (facilitating, structuring, and managing capital deployment), building circular value chains, designing place-based circular economies, establishing materials reverse logistics, supply chain decarbonization (esp. Scope 3 emissions), solving for supply-demand asymmetry, establishing materiality of circular / low-carbon technologies, scaling innovations, and driving their commercial-scale adoption by industry, etc.
