Iqra Asghar

Manager Sustainability

Sapphire Textiles Mills

Iqra is a sustainability specialist with over a decade of experience driving environmental and social performance across global textile supply chains. With a background in agricultural sciences and ESG governance, she bridges technical sustainability frameworks with on-the-ground supplier realities.

She has worked extensively on emerging regulatory requirements, spanning human rights due diligence, traceability, climate-target alignment, and credible reporting and has contributed to OECD discussions on responsible supply chains within textile and garment sector. In her current role within a leading Pakistani textile group, she is working on ESG strategy, decarbonisation, responsible sourcing and value-chain resilience.

Her work includes pilots on circular design, product-level data systems, and traceability technologies, particularly within workwear and institutional home textiles serving healthcare and hospitality laundries. She advocates for long-lifetime, technically robust products and is actively engaged in addressing the industry’s growing challenge of “data fatigue” by promoting more coherent, system-wide approaches to sustainability information.
