Begüm Kürkçü is Global Senior Director of Sustainability at ON, where she leads environmental and social impact strategy. With over 18 years of experience spanning the fashion, retail, and technology sectors, Begüm has held sustainability leadership roles at ON, PVH Corp., and Mitie, alongside consulting work with Cloud Sustainability, Ecodesk, PE International and the United Nations. At ON, Begüm is spearheading ambitious initiatives including sustainable product & traceability, circularity, responsible manufacturing, sustainability data/systems, strategy and engagement.

Begüm is passionate about moving sustainability beyond compliance and legal frameworks to reclaim its inspirational purpose. She emphasises cross-functional collaboration, working closely with product, innovation, sourcing, supply chain, marketing, HR, and finance teams to embed sustainability throughout business operations. Her approach centres on meeting stakeholders where they are, cultivating talent within sustainability teams, and building the partnerships necessary for collective action.

Based in Amsterdam, Begüm holds multiple master’s degrees in Environmental Science, Policy and Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. She is a certified Communicating for Influence and Impact professional from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and her work redefining the role of business in building a better world earned her recognition as one of the top 100 impact leaders by Blue Earth Summit.
