Beyond disclosure: How climate and nature reporting are driving strategy

Plenary
Back to agenda

Mandatory disclosure requirements are now embedded across major markets, voluntary frameworks are gaining regulatory weight, and the volume of climate and nature reporting from companies across the critical minerals value chain is growing. But volume is not the same as impact, and a question the sector has not yet answered honestly is whether any of it is actually changing how companies make decisions.

When disclosure becomes an exercise in compliance rather than a tool for navigation, it consumes significant resource without delivering meaningful change, and the gap between what companies report and what they actually do becomes a liability in itself.

This session examines what it takes for reporting to cross the line from obligation to strategic asset:

  • Where climate and nature reporting is genuinely informing capital allocation, risk management and operational decisions
  • The barriers that keep disclosure disconnected from strategy and how leading companies are overcoming them
  • How to integrate climate, nature and water into a coherent reporting approach rather than siloed frameworks
  • What investors and buyers are actually doing with disclosed data and what they wish companies reported differently

What to expect from this type of session...

Main stage sessions, but not as you know them. Because we’re off-the-record, leading experts can speak candidly about their experience with what works, and what doesn’t. At least half the session is dedicated to audience insights and questions to ensure we tackle the big issues head on.
