Jan Klawitter is Anglo American plc’s VP Government & International Relations EU, Gulf and APAC. He joined the Corporate Affairs team in 2012 and has been leading on a broad range of issues such as business and human right, The Modern Slavery Act, SDGs, circular economy, ethical value chains of critical minerals etc, as well as projects and initiatives such as Anglo American’s Sustainable Mining Plan.
Prior, Jan was a World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Leadership Fellow (GLF) and headed up WEF’s Mining Industry Group. Before WEF, he advised the Chinese Ministry of Land & Resources in setting up the China Mining conference, worked alongside the former Canadian Ambassador to China and for a large FMCG company in Brand Management in China and Hong Kong starting in 2003.
Jan received his degrees in Business and in International Relations from universities in Germany, Spain and China and a Master in Global Leadership as part of WEF’s GLF program.
