Nazma Akter is Founder and Executive Director of Awaj Foundation and has campaigned for more than 30 years to improve working conditions and rights for garment workers, particularly women. She is also President of the Sommilito Garments Sramik Federation and Co-Chair of the Asia Pacific Women’s Committee of IndustriALL Global Union. Her awards include the Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Award and ASTRAIA Female Leader of the Year (2013).
