Driven by a passion to build a more sustainable, low-carbon world rooted in social equity for people and the environment, Ramesh is a senior sustainability and human rights professional with deep experience across global supply chains.
As Head of Responsible Sourcing and Human Rights at Holland & Barrett, he has established an integrated framework that embeds human rights due diligence, traceability and sustainability into commercial decision-making. His work spans ingredient integrity, governance, and responsible sourcing across health, wellness and beauty supply chains.
A graduate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, he has previously worked in consulting, leading projects for investors and multinational organisations on supply chain sustainability, modern slavery, ESG, climate justice, and ethical trade. His sector experience includes food, general merchandise, apparel and fast fashion, with a strong focus on sustainable procurement, greenhouse gas measurement and certification benchmarking.
He has led ethical trade, human rights and sustainability programmes within FTSE 250+ companies, implementing initiatives aligned with the UN Guiding Principles, Modern Slavery Act, GRI and ESG reporting. Multilingual and globally experienced, he has worked closely with suppliers and factories on capacity building and social and environmental standards.
His career highlights include award-winning ethical programmes, large-scale worker representation initiatives impacting over 450,000 workers, and women’s empowerment projects in India reaching more than 11,000 workers.
