Clara Albac-Semal is a National Grid Ventures Director responsible for leading European Offshore Development’s next wave of offshore grid development activities in the North Seas. This work includes establishing a strong set of viable projects to shaping NGV’s EU strategy.
Clara is a serving board member for BritNed and NemoLink – National Grid’s international joint ventures of submarine interconnectors between Great Britain, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Since joining National Grid in 2016, Clara has held roles including Commercial Director at BritNed, contributing to strategic vision, capital project development, and European policy engagement. Clara was influential in defining National Grid group’s long-term, strategic vision and its portfolio strategy, overseeing the development of capital projects in Britain’s electricity transmission network and leading European policy and engagement for the electricity system operator.
Prior to National Grid, Clara worked at Boston Consulting Group in the European energy sector across electricity and gas.
Clara’s volunteering roles have included working with the Red Cross and the International Civil Service. Other roles include Clara’s Executive Sponsorship and membership of WiNTR – National Grid’s employee resource group which focuses on empowering women’s development and success.
