Dr. Alexander Löhner is Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer at Brose, a global, family-owned automotive supplier with operations and development sites across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. In his role, he is responsible for the group-wide sustainability strategy, including ESG governance, product decarbonization, climate targets, regulatory compliance, and global implementation across a complex international value chain.
A key focus of his work lies in translating corporate sustainability ambitions into measurable product-level impact. Together with Brose’s engineering and development teams, Dr. Löhner has led the design of product decarbonization roadmaps across the company’s major product groups, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint — including Scope 3 upstream emissions — by 45% by 2030, compared to a 2022 baseline. This work forms a core element of Brose’s climate and innovation strategy and closely links sustainability targets with technical and commercial decision-making.
Dr. Löhner joined Brose in 2018, initially working as a technical assistant to senior management before taking on a coordinating role in the Exterior business division, where he helped shape the divisional sustainability strategy. Since 2022, he has led Brose’s corporate responsibility agenda at group level.
He holds a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) and studied Technical Physics as well as International Economics and Governance, combining a strong scientific background with strategic and managerial expertise.
